BATON ROUGE MAN ARRESTED FOR AUTO THEFT

BATON ROUGE MAN ARRESTED FOR AUTO THEFT

On June 23, a Washington Parish Sheriff's Office patrol deputy responded to Highway 21 south of Angie to investigate a report of a stolen vehicle being in the area.  The deputy located Malachi K. Campbell, 30, who gave his address as Cable Street in Baton Rouge, in possession of the stolen vehicle.  Inside the vehicle was a 9mm semi-automatic pistol belonging to Campbell.

Campbell, a convicted felon, was arrested and transported to the Washington Parish Jail where he was booked on charges of theft of a motor vehicle, possession of stolen property, being a convicted felon in possession of a firearm, unauthorized entry into an inhabited dwelling and simple battery with injury.

"Once again our officer made a good arrest and was able to get the vehicle back to the rightful owner," stated Sheriff Randy Seal.  "An arrest without incident is always a good arrest."
