SHERIFF SEAL ANNOUNCES PROMOTIONS IN CRIMINAL PATROL DIVISION
Sheriff Randy “Country” Seal announces the promotion of veteran officer, Anthony J. Romano, Jr., to Lieutenant for Criminal Patrol Shift C.
Lt. Romano is a native of St. Bernard Parish and a graduate of the Louisiana State University POST Academy. He began his career as a patrol deputy with St. Bernard Sheriff’s Office quickly moving through the ranks to Patrol Lieutenant. Lt. Romano was hired by the Washington Parish Sheriff’s Office in 2005 as a patrol deputy. After two years, Lt. Romano was promoted to Criminal Investigator and served as the Sheriff’s Office crime scene investigator and evidence custodian for over 5 years. During this time he was responsible for collection, documentation and safekeeping of evidence from crime scenes. In 2015, Lt. Romano was promoted to Criminal Patrol Shift Sergeant and served in that capacity until this promotion.
Lt. Romano holds numerous professional law enforcement certificates including, chemical weapons certification, field training officer certification, intoxilyzer 5000/9000 certification, body language, interview and interrogation, forensic science, crime scene investigation, homeland security WMD standardized awareness program, hazardous materials awareness, Monadnock defensive tactics system course, active shooter in a school course, vehicle pursuit and law enforcement supervisory management course.
