A lack of adequate office space in Bogalusa has been a hindrance for the Washington Parish Sheriff’s Office for many years. That problem was resolved within the past few weeks with the opening of a new full service office at 302 Mississippi Avenue. Citizens on the east side of the parish no longer have to travel to Franklinton to conduct business, including paying taxes and obtaining hunting and fishing licenses.
The new spacious building houses administrative offices, detectives, patrol deputies, sex offender registration and victims services. In addition, the Sheriff’s Office now has its first staff training room.
The public is invited to view the new office space at an open house to be held on Tuesday, September 17, from 4:00 – 6:00 p.m. Refreshments will be served.
Sheriff Randy Seal stated, “The new office space in Bogalusa will be a great aid to us as we work daily to meet the law enforcement needs on the eastern side of our parish. I thank the members of the Masonic Lodge for working with us to obtain this much needed space and I look forward to seeing everyone at the open house.”
