Inmate Mail
To maintain the security and safety of the inmates and staff, all inmate postal mail must be sent to the following address:

The Inmates Name and I.D. number must be clearly Printed on the outside of the envelope or postcard to ensure the mail is posted to the correct account.
All regular inmate postal mail (Postcards, Letters, Greeting Cards, etc.) will be scanned into the system and available to the inmates to view their postal mail via the inmate kiosks.
Legal Mail, Court Documents, Bank Statements, Packages & Publications will continue to be sent to the facility directly. These notices may be mailed to: Washington Parish Sheriff's Office, [Name of Inmate] 1002 Main Street, Franklinton, LA 70438

Upon release, inmates can login into the public website at https://www.smartjailmail.com and enter their inmate number and password and download their photos, messages, and postal mail for free.
INMATE PROPERTY
Inmates are allowed to receive clothing items within the FIRST FIVE DAYS of arrest. The following is a list of items that are allowed:
- 1 PAIR OF BLACK OR BLUE SHOWER SHOES
- 2 PAIRS OF WHITE SOCKS
- 2 PAIRS OF WHITE OR GRAY UNDERWEAR FOR MALE INMATES
- 3 PAIRS OF WHITE OR GRAY UNDERWEAR FOR FEMALE INMATES
- 2 WHITE T-SHIRTS
- 2 SPORTS BRAS (NO METAL)(FEMALES ONLY)
- 2 WHITE WASH CLOTHS
- 2 WHITE TOWELS
- 2 WHITE OR GRAY SWEATSHIRTS
- 2 WHITE OR GRAY SWEATPANTS
- 2 PAIR OF WHITE, GRAY OR BEIGE THERMALS
- ITEMS MAY NOT CONTAIN HOODIES, ZIPPERS, POCKETS, AND DRAWSTRINGS.
